The HUHS Mental Health Service offers Harvard students comprehensive outpatient care for a wide variety of mental health concerns, including:
- Relationship concerns
- Difficulties adjusting to new situations
- Stress/crisis management
- Roommate issues
- Anxiety and/or depression
- Eating concerns
- Addictive behaviors
- Sleep difficulties
- Pregnancy counseling and support
- Health problems or life-threatening illness
- Grief and bereavement
No concern is too small. Our licensed practitioners provide assessment, consultation, support, treatment, and follow-up care at our main clinic in Holyoke Center (Harvard Square), and at clinics on the Law School, Business School, and Longwood Medical Area campuses. Treatment options include individual psychotherapy, medication management, biofeedback, group therapy, and couples therapy.
Services
Individual Counseling
Individual therapy addresses a variety of personal issues and concerns. Counseling provided through the mental health service includes crisis intervention, short-term focused therapy and ongoing therapy for a focal problem, which interferes in one's functional ability.
Medication Management
Medication management is provided in the context of an ongoing therapeutic relationship, and conducted in coordination with the primary therapist and psychopharmacologist.
Group Counseling
Group counseling offers an opportunity to share your concerns by meeting with others in a confidential, safe environment.
Peer Counseling
Peer counseling programs give students meaningful ways to participate in the delivery of health care and wellness activities.
Urgent Care
Urgent care services are available 24 hours a day to students in times of crisis.
