Gynecology (GYN)

When you need routine gynecological care for health maintenance, contraception or other health concerns you see your primary care clinician. Your primary care clinician is trained to do pelvic exams, diagnose and treat women’s health problems, and prescribe birth control. Your primary care clinician is uniquely qualified to support you through all the stages of your life.

Gynecologists are trained to treat complicated gynecological problems, provide obstetrical care, perform surgical procedures and act as consultants to your primary care clinician. If you are a student or have chosen HUGHP for your health plan you will need a referral from your primary care clinician to see the gynecologist.
