FDA Warns Against Use of Eye Drops from Several Brands

Harvard University Health Services would like to share information about recalled products that may be part of our community’s daily care.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a notice to not purchase and immediately stop using more than 25 over-the-counter eye drop products. Use may lead to eye infections that could result in partial vision loss or blindness.

Recalled products are marketed under several brands, including CVS Health, Rite Aid, and Target Up & Up. Seek medical care immediately if you have recently used these products and have signs or symptoms of an eye infection.

HUHS recommends that all patients review their medical supplies and properly discard these eye products if found.
