COVID-19 Continues to Circulate; CDC Recommends Updated COVID-19 Vaccine
Updated September 26, 2024
COVID-19 continues to impact our daily lives. We strongly urge everyone to take precautions to protect themselves and the greater Harvard community.
- If you feel ill, stay home.
- Wear a high-quality, well-fitted mask in crowded indoor settings.
- Take an at-home test if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
- If you test positive, follow protocols.
Be prepared by keeping self-care supplies on hand. As of late September 2024, all U.S. households can order up to four COVID-19 antigen tests by mail at no cost. Additionally, anyone with a Harvard ID can purchase discounted supplies like antigen tests, cold medication, and pain relievers through the ScriptCenter (located on the 1st floor of the Smith Campus Center by the HUHS entrance).
CDC Recommends Updated COVID-19 Vaccine
In August 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that those aged six months and up receive an updated COVID-19 vaccine to reduce the risk of severe complications from the virus.
Get vaccinated today at your local retail pharmacy (such as CVS or Walgreens).
You can receive the COVID-19 vaccine at HUHS if covered under the Harvard Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) or the Harvard University Group Health Plan (HUGHP) and you have an HUHS PCP. If eligible, call (617) 495-5711 for an appointment.
HUHS strongly encourages all members of the community to stay up to date on COVID-19 vaccination.
