Fall 2022 Immunization Requirement Alert

As of December 8, 2022, HUHS is no longer offering large vaccine clinics. Community members looking to receive an updated/bivalent COVID-19 booster or the flu shot should contact their primary care provider’s office or schedule an appointment with a local retail pharmacy.

As the fall semester progresses, Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) reminds all students of the University’s immunization requirements.

Students must be compliant with all vaccine requirements in order to register for the spring term. This includes the annual flu shot as well as the bivalent Omicron-specific COVID-19 booster. Bivalent boosters can be administered two months after the last COVID-19 vaccination. Students will be alerted to non-compliance as early as mid-October.

HUHS offers appointments for both the flu vaccine and the Moderna bivalent Omicron-specific booster. Clinics will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays—noon to 3 pm—from September 19 through December 6 in the Smith Campus Center on the second floor, Mount Auburn Room. There will not be a clinic on Monday, October 10 in observance of Indigenous People’s Day.

Clinics will also be held through mid-December at a variety of locations across the Cambridge, Allston, and Longwood campuses. Locations and times are listed on the HUHS calendar.

It is highly recommended that students receive the required vaccinations during the fall term while on campus.

Flu vaccines and boosters received at HUHS will automatically be updated on a student’s record. If vaccination is administered outside of HUHS, students must upload supporting documentation to the Patient Portal.

Vaccines administered during or after winter break may not be processed and cleared in time for spring course registration.
