Overview
Harvard University Health Services is committed to supporting the health and wellness needs of our LGBTQ+ community. We offer a number of services for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff around matters such as:

Primary Care (Internal Medicine) Services
- Comprehensive primary and gender-affirming care
- Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- HIV oral* pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP)
- Gender-affirming hormone therapy
- Consultation for referral for gender-affirming surgery
* HUHS does not offer injectable PrEP.
If you are interested in receiving gender-affirming medical care, the first step is to schedule a long appointment with a member of the Primary Care medical team.

Counseling and Mental Health Services (CAMHS) for Students
- Individual Therapy: One-on-one counseling sessions can be scheduled with an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist.
- Group Support: Participate in our safe and supportive groups and workshops. Learn about CAMHS groups and workshops.
- Peer Support: Contact Peer Counseling is a non-judgmental and confidential counseling service for Harvard undergraduates. Topics may include any issue, including LGBTQ+ identities, all genders, sexes, sexualities, and relationships.

Behavioral Health (BH) for Faculty, Staff, and their Dependents
- Individual Therapy: One-on-one counseling sessions can be scheduled with an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist.

Member Services
The Harvard University Student Health Insurance Plan and the Harvard University Group Health Plan cover gender-affirming services including, but not limited to, hormone therapy, chest reconstruction, breast augmentation, genital surgery, and sperm and oocyte cryopreservation for transgender and gender-diverse individuals when gender identity differs from assigned sex at birth.
